Enabling JavaScript in Microsoft Edge

Note that Microsoft no longer supports Internet Explorer, and recommends using Microsoft Edge instead.

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Click the Tools menu (or the gear icon in the upper-right corner for IE 9 and later) and select Internet Options.
  3. Select the Security tab.
  4. Ensure the Internet zone is selected (represented by an globe icon).
  5. Click the Custom level... button.
  6. In the Security Settings dialog box, scroll down to the Scripting section.
  7. Under Active scripting, select the Enable radio button.
  8. Click OK to save the changes. A warning window may appear asking for confirmation; select Yes.
  9. Click OK again on the Internet Options window to close it.
  10. Refresh your browser window to apply the changes and run scripts.

For increased security, you can also enable JavaScript only for specific, trusted websites by adding them to the Trusted sites zone in the Security tab instead of enabling it for the entire Internet zone.
