First Interstate has instituted a peer-to-peer recognition program called “Celebrate.” Employees are encouraged to consider the Company’s core values and how their colleagues bring those values to life through their work. The program allows employees to recognize their peers for going above and beyond the call of duty.
In 2015, we instituted a charitable program called First Relief to provide an avenue for employees to support one another in times of need, such as a family emergency, natural disaster, or other unexpected event. Through employee gifts and payroll deductions, as well as support and matching from the Foundation, First Relief provides employees in crisis with assistance for basic living expenses to bridge short-term financial gaps.
Starting in 2018, in celebration of our 50th anniversary and to recognize the communities that contribute to our success, First Interstate instituted its first annual Commitment to Community Volunteer Day. Each year, we close the bank for an afternoon so our employees can volunteer in our communities.
