Regular Savings or Money Market Account

You can designate your First Interstate Regular Savings or Money Market Account as the source to cover any overdrafts in your checking account. There is no charge for this service.

The advantages of choosing this option are:

  • There are no interest charges, unlike a line of credit.
  • The limit for your overdraft coverage is as large as your Regular Savings or Money Market balance.
  • Your monthly statement details the transfers between your accounts.
  • Review transactions via Online Banking and Day & Night Telephone Banking.
  • You will be assessed a $10 Excess Withdrawal Fee for each transfer or withdrawal after six (6) of the following transaction types in a service charge cycle:
    • Withdrawals or Transfers to another account of yours or to a third party by means of pre-authorized or automatic transfer, or made by telephone (including data transmission), computer, check, draft, debit card, or similar order (including POS transactions) to a third party.
    • The fee will not apply to transactions made in person, at an ATM, or by mail.

Line of Credits

An Overdraft Credit Line or AdvanceLine Personal Lines of Credit can save you the inconvenience of returned payments and the cost of overdraft fees. A line of credit can be attached to your checking account, and it will automatically activate if you overdraw your account. There is a $5.00 transfer fee for this service.

  • Pay interest only on what you actually use.
  • Outstanding balances can be paid in smaller increments over time
  • Transfers will happen automatically- no need to manually advance funds
  • Enjoy unlimited transfers with a Personal Line of Credit (up to credit limit).
  • Review transactions via Online Banking and Day & Night Telephone Banking.

Rate subject to change. Personal Lines of Credit require credit approval and applications can be obtained at your local First Interstate branch. Excludes Home Equity Line of Credit.
